The BLS for Healthcare Providers Renewal Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.

For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. This would also include nursing students, EMT students and anyone that is interested in becoming a BLS Instructor

The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches CPR, how to use a AED (Automatic External Defibullatior) and relief of choking in adults and children, children and infant as well as the  use of mouth barrier devices for all ages.

 For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This would include teachers, fitness trainers and coaches.

Heartsaver First Aid With CPR & AED is a classroom course that is designed to 
meet OSHA requirements.  The course teaches basic first Aid, CPR, and AED skills such as:
• Helping someone with a possible broken bone or sprain
• Giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult
• Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states.  This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children such as:
• What to do when a child or infant has a breathing problem
• Giving compressions and breaths to an infant or child
• Stopping bleeding that can be seen

Heartsaver First Aid is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

The Hospital Fire Safety class fulfills the Los Angeles Fire Code requirement that all employees of acute care hospitals, psychiatric facilities, convalescent homes, and skilled nursing facilities within the boundary of Los Angeles City be trained in fire safety and possess a valid fire safety certification card.

Upon completing the course, a PDF of both a BLUE card (valid for 4 years) and a PINK card (valid for 2 years) will be emailed to you. If you would like to have the actual cards, they will be available for pick up in our office by appointment.

Family & Friends is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card. This course is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, middle- and high-school students, and anyone interested in learning how to save a life.

Family & Friends covers the lifesaving skills of CPR and AED use on adults, children, and infants, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants.  Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

  • Uses AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which improves learning and retention
  • Classroom format works well for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback while learning skills
  • AHA Textbook available (sold separately)

For American Heart Association (AHA) courses that include psychomotor skills such as CPR, students who take an online (eLearning) course must also complete an in-person skills practice and testing session to obtain an AHA course completion card.  The skills practice and skills test are taken together during a Hands-on Skills Session after the student completes the eLearning portion online.

This course includes:

  2. BLS for Healthcare Providers Skills testing (part 2 and 3)
  3. Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED Skills testing (part 2 and 3)

  5. Heartsaver CPR and AED Skills testing (part 2 and 3)

Skills Sessions are conducted by authorized AHA Instructors.

After you complete your online course, you must print your certificate.

This Heartsaver® CPR AED course is exclusively for K-12 students, faculty, and staff.

The Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed to prepare students to perform CPR  and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Heartsaver courses are designed to be flexible and customizable with optional modules, and are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course .

After successfully completing the Heartsaver CPR AED course, students should be able to:

  • describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
  • explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • recognize when someone needs CPR
  • perform high-quality CPR for an adult alone or as a team member during multi-rescuer CPR (child and infant CPR modules are optional)
  • give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a barrier device for all age groups
  • demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult (child and infant AED modules are optional)
  • describe when and how to help a choking adult or child (infant choking module is optional).
